What's going to happen?
On Saturday, December 9th, from 5-5:30 PM CET, the European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017 invites you to the official closing of our year of culture. The wind-swept inner harbor of Hvide Sande is the setting for “A Shared Moment”, a 30-minute spectacle looking to the future and passing the collective energy of the 19 municipalities of Central Denmark Region to the next European Capitals of Culture in Leeuwarden, Netherlands and Valleta, Malta.
The show is presented free of charge and welcomes the entire family to experience it.
The municipality will also be hosting some pre-show (starting at 2 PM) and post-show entertainment (ending at 6 PM), for the visiting public to enjoy at the town center which will be made into a car-free zone. Be sure to arrive early to avoid any parking congestion.

What am I going to experience?
As a spectator, you will gather around the harbor and marvel in a 30-minute show which includes aspects on land and the water, with song and dance, and including local performers from the region as well as professional performers. Representatives of all municipalities from Central Denmark Region will have a performative moment in the show as well.
If you can’t participate in person in Hvide Sande, the event will be streamed live back to a public site in Aarhus and will be available as an online live stream. Read more about that here

It's free with no ticket is required. Just show up and enjoy the show!
Where can I find a map of the event area?
A map of the erea will be uploaded here as soon as possible.
Where do I watch the show?
The inner harbor of Hvide Sande (GPS: Otto Pedersvej, 6960 Hvide Sande). Viewing areas will be identified through barriers and staff will direct you where to go.
Please note that there won’t be a viewing area or speakers on the commercial side of the harbor.
Access for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users?
A viewing area will be set aside for wheelchair users and their companions.
If travelling from the southern end of the town, parking for disability badge holders will be located near the ‘Fiske Auktion’ (Auktiongade, 6960 Hvide Sande). Parking attendants will direct you.
If travelling from the northern end of the town, parking for disability badge holders will be by the Tourist Information Centre (Nørregade 2, 6960 Hvide Sande). Parking attendants will direct you.
Will there be seating available?
While most of the audience will be standing, there will be some temporary seating available.
Can I take photos and videos along the way?
Yes! We encourage everyone to take their own photos and videos.

Can I buy food and drink?
Hot drinks will be located near the audience viewing area. Bars, restaurants and cafes will be open as usual pre- and post-event.
Are there public toilets available?
Toilet facilities, including disabled toilets, will be located behind the audience viewing area.
Will the event take place in the event of bad weather?
Since it is an outdoor event, we encourage everyone to check the weather forecast and wear/bring plenty of suitable, warm clothes and footwear. Dress informally and for your own comfort.

In case of cancellation, we will announce this on the website and our social media. Local authorities and info hosts will also be on hand with more information on the day of the event.
TO AND FROM
Where can I park?
There will be vehicle and bicycle parking lots around the vicinity of the performance area. You will be directed by parking marshals to park in existing and temporary car parks. Please follow directional signage and directions from the parking marshals with flags.
If you are travelling from the northern part of town, you will park and then walk across the Søndergade bridge to the viewing area.
If you are travelling from the southern part of town, you will park and then walk over the draw-bridge to the viewing area.
Please note that some roads will be closed or have limited access. Please arrive early to avoid traffic congestion.

Can I use public transportation?
Public transport to Hvide Sande is limited and there is only infrequent bus service.
Bus 580-Bjerregård/Kirksvej from Ringkøbing will bring you closest to the performance area. For bus times and stops, see www.rejseplanen.dk
Taxi options are available. Please check online for a suitable transporter.
