Organisational and political impact

European Capital of Culture has been operated as an independent, commercial foundation, run by a Board of Directors with 13 members, representing politics, the business sector and the cultural sector, chaired by the Mayor of Aarhus.

Through collaborations on local, regional, national and international levels, Aarhus 2017 has made both organisational and political impact.
