Face and Identity

Presented by Art Centre Silkeborg Bad

To this day the portrait is still an important form of expression in the constant endeavour to understand aspects of the human personality. Face and Identity investigates what the outer appearance — the face and its staging — can tell us about our sense of self, and the relationship between looks and character.

The project is presented as a historical, contemporary and interactive exploration. The historical survey examines nine different expression themes. A contemporary exhibition shows works by five European artists interacting with the exceptional locations of Silkeborg Bad.

The third perspective is that of the audience who will become more than just contemplating viewers by being integrated and implicated in the rooms of the entire spa building.
