coOPERAtion

Presented by AUT (Aarhus Unge Tonekunstnere)

coOPERAtion is a community based production and development platform for Opera initiated by Aarhus Unge Tonekunstnere in 2012. coOPERAtion facilitates artistic meetings to explore and re-imagine opera as a contemporary art form. Composers meet with music, theatre and opera ensembles, artists, producers and researchers from a broad cross-aesthetic field to delve further into this amazing art form.

OMA - OPERATIC MASS ACTIONS
Operatic Mass Actions intervene in the urban space of Aarhus to emancipate the genre of opera from the grand institutions and their stages. In this urban space the art form will enter into a fluid and changeable context which calls for a more democratic concept of the opera work.

AGONY - AN EATING OPERA
AGONY is an opera-mad poem, a delicate, thoughtful and crossborder work of composer Line Tjørnhøj where the audience is invited to dinner. Dramaturgy follows the feast of its rhythm and the text is an allegory of modern man’s existence in the shadow of looming disasters. AGONY is performance opera with voices speaking the language of science, beauty, yearning and consolation. AGONY is a brand new opera concept, where chef and food stylist Michelle Appelros creates a sumptuous meal, which she serves live. We present an innovative cooperation on the creation of scenography products with an empowerment project for women in Jordan. With this collaboration together with the Royal Botanic Garden, Jordan we create a cultural meeting in all parts of the opera experience.
