St. John Passion

Presented by Concert Clemens and Conducted by Carsten Seyer-Hansen

The multi-award winning Aarhus vocal chorus, Concert Clemens, will perform J.S. Bach's oratorio, St. John Passion, in the iconic Aarhus Cathedral. Bach’s St. John Passion has been described as a work of expressive immediacy, unbridled and ardent.

With a star-studded ensemble of soloists: Ditte Højgaard (soprano), Peter Lodahl (tenor) Jens Søndergaard (bass) and featured soloist, Andreas Scholl (countertenor). Andreas Scholl is considered one of the world's leading countertenors. When Scholl last visited Aarhus in 2015, performing J.S. Bach's B minor Mass, celebrating The Aarhus Bach Society's 25th anniversary, the Stiftstidende wrote: ‘Seeing Andreas Scholl work and hearing his beautiful voice with the wonderful sound quality filling the church with beauty in the most amazing way, stands as the evening's big experience.’
