FREIGHT: Untold Stories from the Harbour

Presented by Aarhus Theatre in cooperation with Ud-›flugten at Aarhus Theatre and The Port of Aarhus

Aarhus Harbour is under construction and in transition. A new cityscape consisting of prominent residences and corporate headquarters is taking shape, squeezed along the waterfront between gigantic iconic cranes, colourful containers, silos and huge freighters.

Aarhus Theatre invites its audience into this transitional situation and the conflicted, transforming space between water and land to experience a journey based on the untold stories of the harbour. Between the global and the intimate, the magical and the factual, these stories bring the harbour and its history alive. Meet the woman on the steaming pile of shea nuts and the Chinese worker feeding our consumerism.

They all represent the human face of the area. FREIGHT is a unique theatrical experience, combining industry with choreography, everyday life with poetry and film with theatre.
