Rethink Urban Habitats

Presented by the Natural History Museum Aarhus

The city is not just a habitat for human beings, it is also a place to share with all the other amazing species that inhabit our part of the world: animals that Denmark, the UN, and the EU have committed themselves to halt the decline of by 2020.

Rethink Urban Habitats activates the city as a habitat and living place. Animals and plants lack space to exist in Denmark, but we can give them new places for dwelling within the city limits! Not at the expense of people, but for the joy and benefit of people. That is what makes all the difference. Inside the city, nature does not need to take room away from humans. Nature provides both space and gives pleasure and quality of life, whether it is the old oak trees in the park, the blooming ivy, the crackling black redstart or wild bees in the flower bed.

Urban Habitats grows the city for the future full of nature and wonder.
