Bring Home the Oysters!

Part of European Region of Gastronomy 2017
Presented by Limfjorden, Geopark Vestjylland, Wadden Sea, Sydvestjyske Smagsoplevelser, FOOD and Central Denmark Region

Join the European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017 on a trip into the beautiful Danish nature and collect as many oysters as you can carry home!

On October 21st the tour goes to Limfjorden, including a trip to the new museum in Thorsminde, dedicated to the stranded ship St. George.

For a long time, the Danish oysters belonged to the Danish royal family, who earned a lot of money exporting the goods to the Russian Tzar. Civils could face a death sentence if they picked oysters. Oysters are also known to be an aphrodisiac, and it is said that Casanova ate 50 oysters every day.

Participants should bring wellies and practical clothing, as well as a backpack/tote bag/bucket or the likes for the transportation of the oysters.
