Aarhus 2017 supports Aarhus Festival event at DOKK1

Aarhus Festival collaborates with DOKK1 on putting sound and light on Aarhus’ new multimedia house, when New Zealand artist Daniel Belton’s installation ‘More Light’ lights up the building both inside and outside. The spectacular event is free of admission and supported financially by Aarhus 2017.

From 1 – 5 September, audiences can experience the theme of this year’s Aarhus Festival, ‘Light – more light’, be unfolded when 10 projectors throw pictures of dancers and geometrical forms on the aluminum surface of DOKK1 and take the audiences on a journey through light, sound and architecture. Aided by German experts, New Zealand artist Daniel Belton presents the biggest edition ever of his lighting installation ‘More Light’.

Inspired by, among others, Galileo, Kepler and Pythagoras, the artist wishes to, on one side, expand our idea of what a room can be used for and why we even build, while the art work at the same time makes the audiences forget that they are looking at a building they already know.
