Aarhus 2017 teams up with the renowned Hay Festival and presents the first international children’s literature festival in Denmark. 39 of the best European writers aged 40 and under were invited to write new stories based on the theme 'Journey'. The stories are published in two anthologies: ‘Quest’ and ‘Odyssey’.
H.R.H Crown Princess Mary will open the inaugural Festival at 11:15 on 26 October.
The writers will join us at the festival in Aarhus in October, where we delve into the 39 writers’ stories and learn more about their work as writers. Meet Frida Nilsson (Sweden), Sarah Crossan (Ireland/England), Stefanie de Velasco (Germany) and Dy Plambeck (Denmark) and more.
The festival also presents the finest work in European Children’s litterature and illustration. Here, you will meet Kim Fupz Aakeson (DK), Stian Hole (Norway), Josefine Ottesen (DK), Cecilie Eken (DK), Kenneth Bøgh Andersen (DK), Louis Jensen (DK), Eoin Colfer (IRL).
The festival takes place 26.-29. October at the library Dokk1 in Aarhus.
Entry to the events is free, but ticketed. You can book your tickets here and print them out at home.
