Edda Oct. 14 - Oct. 20
Experience one of the Year of Culture’s absolute highlights. We know the Norse mythology with Odin and Thor, Loke and Balder, the Midgard Serpent and the Prophecy of the Völva. Now a major league of theatre talents bring the 800 year old Edda poems to life in a spectacular musical play. EDDA is created by Robert Wilson, one of the world’s greatest living visual theatre geniuses
New Danish Modern Oct. 13 - Oct. 21
Demark is design! The New Danish Modern exhibition gives an historical perspective on Danish Design and creates a platform for the celebration of present and future design.
Cindy Sherman Until Dec. 10
Cindy Sherman is easily the most influential photo artist of our time. With her shocking, self-exposing and innovative portraits, she has delivered distinctive contributions to the development of photography as an artistic medium since the 1970s.
Image Storm: Blasphemy, Gender and Otherness Until Dec. 30
Images can provoke, challenge taboos, be censored – and images can be destroyed. This is called Iconoclasm. Commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, Image Storm will examine how and why certain images were outlawed, destroyed or made taboo because of their religious, political, sexual or ethnic content.
Sculpture City Selde Until Dec. 17
In 2017, Sculpture City Selde will be inhabited by video artists, who will use the town and its residents as material for video productions. The artists’ work will be installed in public spaces in different ways, e.g. as a projection onto a building wall, buried in the ground and covered in glass, projected up into a window of a private home or at Dagli’ Brugsen, onto the church, at the old people’s home, in the school.
Fresh Eyes Oct. 12 - Oct. 29
FRESH EYES – International Artists Rethink Aarhus offers a unique urban exhibition, showing Aarhus from hitherto unknown sides. Galleri Image and the Aarhus Centre for Literature in collaboration have invited internationally recognised photographers and writers from Europe, Asia and Africa to rethink’ the city creatively in text and image.
Kawaii Epikku - The biggest mange animé exhibition in Northern Europe Until Oct. 20
Viborg Manga and Anime Exhibition offers a unique opportunity to experience the true richness and diversity of Manga – from the cutest of cute, to epic explosions and Armageddon-like battlegrounds
Callum Morton: Sisyphus Until Dec. 31
Internationally acclaimed artist, Callum Morton, devises a sculptural commission for the Art Centre Silkeborg Bad that draws on its rich history as a health facility, a refugee camp and a bunkered site of Nazi occupation.
